Mazak Series Repair
Mazak Turning Legacy Repair (Slant Turn / Multiplex / Megaturn)
Mazak's turning legacy platforms — Slant Turn 15/18/20 and Slant Turn Nexus, Multiplex 6000 through 6300, Megaturn vertical turning, HQR-150/200/250, and the Powermaster series — are still running on shop floors across the Midwest. The platforms are mechanically sound; what brings them in is control obsolescence and drive-side issues more often than spindle work.

Common failure patterns
- M-Plus and Fusion 640 control board faults — board-level repair or remanufacturing where parts allow.
- Drive obsolescence — older servo amplifiers going scarce.
- Slant-bed way wear from years of production.
- Tailstock and turret indexing issues on Multiplex twin-turret platforms.
- Hydraulic system pressure loss on the older Megaturn vertical platforms.
Controls used on this series
These platforms ran Mazatrol legacy controls — M-Plus and Fusion 640 are the most common. Multiplex 6100 and later ran Matrix. For the legacy generation, expect aftermarket-only parts on most boards and OEM-discontinued status on some servo amplifiers.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
