Okuma Series Repair
Okuma MU 5-Axis / MCR Bridge Spindle Repair & Grinding
MU 5-axis and MCR bridge-mill spindles handle the most precise work in the Okuma lineup. MU-400V through MU-8000V are trunnion-table 5-axis machines where RTCP verification post-rebuild is mandatory. MCR-A5C and MCR-BIII bridge mills handle very large parts where bridge geometry interacts with spindle-side accuracy in ways trunnion machines don't.
Models in this series we service
- MU-400V
- MU-500V
- MU-6300V
- MU-8000V
- MCR-A5C
- MCR-BIII
Common failure patterns
- Trunnion calibration drift on MU builds after spindle work — A and C-axis zero-point work.
- Bridge geometry calibration on MCR — large-span alignment after spindle service.
- Spindle bearing wear on MU 5-axis builds from high-stress cuts.
- Linear scale issues on bridge machines affecting spindle-side accuracy.
Controls used on this series
MU and MCR ship on OSP-P300 — the standard control for these platforms across the current generation.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
