Haas ST Series Way Covers
ST series lathe way covers protect the slant-bed ways from chip and coolant. Telescoping steel is the default cover style across the line. Smaller ST-10 and ST-20 chuckers use compact configurations; ST-30 and larger have longer ways. SSY Y-axis variants add an additional Y-axis cover; DS-30 dual-spindle adds sub-spindle ways requiring a matching cover set.

Common failure patterns

- Bar-feed and parts-catcher mounting can interfere with cover paths — confirm clearances.
- Long-bed configurations on ST-40 and ST-50 have substantially longer ways.
Controls used on this series
Current ST series way covers are OEM-available through Haas; older ST builds split between OEM availability and custom-fab. We check availability before quoting and route accordingly. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
