Haas Toolroom Lathes Way Covers
Toolroom lathe way covers — TL-1 through TL-4 and CL-1 — use telescoping steel as the default. The dimensions are smaller than ST series production lathes. The machines see toolroom-style use in many shops but get pushed into production-style cycles in others; cover wear patterns track the actual usage rather than the toolroom intent.

Common failure patterns
- Telescoping steel is standard across the TL and CL lineup.
- TL-3 and TL-4 have substantially longer ways than TL-1 and TL-2.
- Manual-mode usage doesn't reduce cover wear — the ways still need protection.
- Bar-feed mounting on TL machines can interfere with standard cover paths — confirm clearances.
Controls used on this series
Current TL and CL way covers are OEM-available through Haas; older TL builds split between OEM and custom-fab. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
