Mazak Series Repair
Mazak HCN Horizontal Way Covers
HCN horizontal way covers have to account for the pallet-changer interface on top of the standard X/Y/Z protection. The horizontal orientation works in the covers' favor for chip drainage — fluid and chips don't pool the way they can on verticals — but the pallet-changer sealing area is where most cover wear shows up. We fabricate the linear-axis covers plus pallet-interface seals as a coordinated set.
Models in this series we service
- HCN-4000
- HCN-5000
- HCN-6000
- HCN-8800
- HCN-10800
- PFH
- H-Series
Common failure patterns
- X/Y/Z linear-axis covers — telescoping steel is standard for the horizontal chip and coolant loads.
- Pallet-changer interface sealing — the most common wear point on HCN platforms.
- B-axis indexer interface clearances — confirm during quoting.
- HCN-8800 and HCN-10800 large-platform covers are substantially larger than HCN-4000 through HCN-6000.
- Legacy PFH and H-series covers are almost always custom fabrication at this point.
Controls used on this series
Current HCN-4000 through HCN-10800 covers are OEM-available through Mazak; legacy PFH and H-series are custom-only. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks. We can build complete cover sets including the pallet-interface seals as a coordinated package.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
