Mazak Series Repair
Mazak Turning Legacy Way Covers
Mazak's turning legacy platforms — Slant Turn, Multiplex, Megaturn, HQR, Powermaster — are almost always custom-fabrication for way covers in 2026. The OEM has discontinued most original cover part numbers, so we build to spec from your existing cover, the original drawing, or measurements off the machine. The fabrication itself is straightforward; the time-consuming part is getting accurate measurements from a machine that's been in production for 25+ years.

Common failure patterns
- Telescoping steel is the default on Slant Turn and Multiplex platforms.
- Megaturn vertical-turning covers use different geometry — confirm style during quoting.
- HQR-150 through HQR-250 have similar dimensions to current Quick Turn but with legacy-spec mounting.
- Confirm way-travel dimensions carefully on machines that have been re-mounted or moved.
- Original mounting hardware is sometimes unavailable — we'll match or provide replacement hardware as part of the build.
Controls used on this series
OEM-spec covers for the turning legacy family are almost universally discontinued. Custom fabrication to your existing cover, original drawing, or machine measurements is the standard path. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks; complex multi-axis legacy machines may run slightly longer if measurements need to be coordinated.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
