Okuma LAW / LFS Heavy Way Covers
Okuma LAW and LFS heavy-lathe covers handle very large workpieces and very heavy cuts. LAW 1000 through 3000 use heavier-duty cover specifications matched to the machine class. LFS-590 flat-bed turning has different cover geometry from the LAW configurations.

Common failure patterns
- Heavy-duty telescoping steel covers — scaled for the workpiece class.
- LAW 3000 covers are substantially heavier-duty than LAW 1000.

- Heavy chip and coolant loads require careful cover sealing.
Controls used on this series
Current LAW and LFS way covers are OEM-available through Okuma. Custom fabrication is sometimes appropriate for heavy-cut environments where heavier-than-OEM specifications make sense. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
