Okuma Control Generation

Way Covers for OSP Legacy Era Machines

Way covers on OSP Legacy era Okuma machines (pre-2003) are almost always custom-fabrication. OEM cover part numbers for OSP 5000, OSP 7000, U10, and U100 era machines have largely been discontinued. We build to spec from your existing cover, the original Okuma drawing if you have it, or measurements off the machine.

Machines this control shipped on

OSP Legacy controls shipped on older Okuma platforms — legacy MV-series verticals, MX-45, ES-L and ESV LB/LU builds, older LT-15 and LT-25 twin-turret, and legacy MacTurn predecessors to current MULTUS.

Common failures and fixes

  • Telescoping steel is the default for legacy Okuma turning machines.
  • Custom-fab is the standard path — OEM-spec is mostly discontinued.
  • Original mounting hardware is sometimes unavailable — replacement hardware as part of the build.
  • Measurements off the machine require careful coordination since these are 20+-year-old platforms.

Parts availability

OSP Legacy era way covers are mostly OEM-discontinued. Custom fabrication is the standard path.

Battery, memory, and parameter recovery

Custom fabrication to your existing cover, the original OEM drawing if you have it, or measurements taken off the machine. We can build complete cover sets for legacy machines including replacement mounting hardware. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks once measurements are confirmed.
