Okuma MU 5-Axis / MCR Bridge Way Covers
MU 5-axis and MCR bridge-mill covers are the most complex fabrications in the Okuma lineup. MU-400V through MU-8000V trunnion-table 5-axis machines need linear-axis covers that clear the rotating workpiece envelope. MCR-A5C and MCR-BIII bridge mills have bridge-geometry cover requirements that differ from trunnion machines.

Common failure patterns
- MU trunnion-table covers — linear axes use telescoping steel; trunnion-adjacent areas use bellows or fabric.
- MU-8000V large-platform has substantially larger cover sets than MU-400V/500V.
- MCR-A5C and MCR-BIII bridge mill covers have distinct geometry from trunnion machines.
- Bridge-geometry covers handle large-span work envelopes.

MU and MCR way covers are OEM-available through Okuma on current builds. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks; full multi-axis cover sets coordinate as a package.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
