Doosan Series Repair
Doosan Puma Horizontal Turning Repair
The Puma series is the Doosan turning workhorse — Puma 230 through Puma 800, with M/MS/LM/LY/Y/SY/SY II configuration variants, the heavier 4100 and 5100 builds, the GT compact lineup, the TT twin-turret builds, and the TW gantry-loaded variants. Most Midwest shop floors running Doosan have at least one Puma.

Common failure patterns
- Turret indexing — solenoid, indexer pawl, position-encoder issues.
- Sub-spindle alignment drift on SY twin-spindle configurations.
- Y-axis backlash and ballscrew wear from heavy cuts.
- Tailstock quill wear and pressure loss on long-bed builds.
- Lower turret faults on the TT twin-turret builds.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
