Fanuc Control Generation
Fanuc Series 0i Repair (Model A through F)
Fanuc Series 0i is ubiquitous — Model A through current Model F. It shipped on a huge fleet of mid-2000s through present-day machines, including most entry and mid-range [Doosan Puma](/repairs/doosan-cnc-machine-repair/puma/), [Doosan Lynx](/repairs/doosan-cnc-machine-repair/lynx/), older [Haas](/repairs/haas-cnc-machine-repair/vf-series/) imports, and countless other platforms. Routine service is HDD/CF card work, battery replacement, drive amplifier faults, and panel button failures.
Machines this control shipped on
Series 0i ships on the broadest cross-section of any Fanuc control — most entry and mid-range Doosan Puma and all Doosan Lynx, older Haas builds, and a huge fleet of imported Asian-OEM machines. 0i-F is the current generation; 0i-D dominates the 2010-2018 fleet.
Common failures and fixes
- HDD or CF card failure — most common single issue. CF card replacement and SSD-style migration are routine.
- Battery loss — leading to parameter and program memory loss.
- Drive amplifier faults from heavy production cycles.
- Operator-panel button failure on high-cycle keys.
- Touchscreen drift on the newer 0i builds with touchscreen panels.
Parts availability
Series 0i parts are fully current and supported through Fanuc. 0i-A and B are heading toward late-life status; 0i-D and 0i-F are fully current.
Battery, memory, and parameter recovery
Battery and parameter recovery on 0i is well documented. Capture parameters and PMC ladder logic before any battery work, replace the battery on a powered control, restore parameters as needed. CF card migration to current media is part of the same workflow.
