DMG Mori Series Repair
DMG Mori CTX / CLX Way Covers
CTX and CLX turning covers span entry CLX 350/450/550 production through CTX 850 universal turning, plus the TC turn-mill builds. The TC variants add a B-axis milling-spindle traverse cover on top of the standard turning ways. Telescoping steel is the default for the turning side; the B-axis covers on TC machines depend on travel range and clearance.

Common failure patterns
- Turning ways use telescoping steel — standard across CTX and CLX.
- TC variants (CTX Beta 800 TC, Gamma 2000 TC, etc.) add B-axis milling-spindle covers.
- Long-bed CTX 650 and CTX 850 have substantially longer covers than base CTX 310/450.
- Tailstock mounting on long-bed configurations can interfere with cover paths.
- Hydraulic chuck mounting hardware can interact with the cover sealing area.
Controls used on this series
CTX and CLX way covers are OEM-available through DMG Mori; the TC B-axis covers are sometimes routed through custom fabrication depending on the specific build. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
