DMG Mori NHX / NH Way Covers
NHX and the older NH horizontal covers have to account for the pallet-changer interface on top of standard X/Y/Z protection. Telescoping steel is the default cover style; pallet-interface sealing uses dedicated sealing rather than conventional covers. NHX 4000 through 10000 covers differ substantially in dimension; NHX-8000 and 10000 large platforms have heavier-duty cover sets.

Common failure patterns
- Telescoping steel covers — standard across NHX and NH configurations.
- Pallet-changer interface sealing on all NHX builds — most common wear point.
- B-axis indexer interface clearances on every NHX configuration.
- Large-platform NHX-8000 and NHX-10000 have substantially larger covers than NHX-4000/5000.
- Coolant intrusion at the pallet seal is the most common reason NHX covers come in.
Controls used on this series
Current NHX way covers are OEM-available through DMG Mori; legacy NH covers split between OEM and custom-fab. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
