DMG Mori NVX / NV / NVD Way Covers
NVX vertical-machining covers — NVX 4000 through 7000 — use telescoping steel as the default. NV 4000 and NV 5000 older builds use the same general configurations with slightly different mounting. NVD with DCG (Driven at the Center of Gravity) construction has the same external cover geometry as NVX but different internal mounting in some areas.

Common failure patterns
- X/Y/Z covers — telescoping steel is the default across NVX, NV, and NVD.
- NVX-5060 and NVX-7000 large-envelope covers are substantially larger than NVX-4000.
- DCG construction on NVD affects internal mounting but not external cover dimensions.
- Spindle column covers on some configurations — bellows or fabric depending on the build.
- Way damage from chip ingress is common on heavily used NVX machines.
Controls used on this series
Current NVX way covers are OEM-available through DMG Mori; older NV builds split between OEM and custom-fab. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
