DMG Mori Series Repair
DMG Mori CMX / CMX U Spindle Repair & Grinding
CMX spindles are the entry-production end of the DMG Mori lineup — CMX 600V through 1300V verticals, CMX 50U and 70U 5-axis universals, the CMX 320V compact. The platform is built for accessibility and cost; spindle wear patterns in heavy-use environments outpace the higher-end DMU and NVX machines because the bearing-pack design is lighter-duty.

Common failure patterns
- Bearing wear from sustained production cycles in busy shop environments.
- Spindle thermal issues on machines pushed to upper RPM limits.
- Taper damage from toolholder issues during high-cycle production.
- Coolant intrusion at the spindle nose on high-coolant work.
Controls used on this series
CMX machines ship on Siemens 840D under CELOS.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
