Siemens 840D is where DMG Mori spindle parameters live for the majority of the lineup. Spindle drive tuning, encoder configuration, and machine-data parameters are managed at the 840D layer; CELOS handles the operator workflow on top. Before any spindle work we capture the parameter set via the Siemens-standard backup path. Original 840D (non-solutionline) is at late-life status for control hardware; solutionline is fully current.

Siemens 840D spindle drives are well supported through Siemens and authorized service partners on solutionline. Original 840D (non-sl) drives are heading toward aftermarket and remanufactured-only over the next several years.

Spindle parameter backup on 840D is documented Siemens procedure — back up via the operator panel before any battery or board work. Spindle-specific parameters (drive tuning, encoder offsets, preload settings) go into the standard backup set.
