DMG Mori Series Repair
DMG Mori NTX Integrated Mill-Turn Spindle Repair & Grinding
NTX integrated mill-turn machines run two high-capability spindles each: a turning spindle in the headstock and a full B-axis milling spindle in the upper-tooling. The milling spindle is the highest-stress component on these platforms because it sees axial, lateral, and angular cuts at varying loads. After-spindle B-axis kinematic verification is mandatory — multitasking tolerances depend on it.
Models in this series we service
- NTX 1000
- NTX 2000
- NTX 2500
- NTX 3000
- NTX 4000
Common failure patterns
- B-axis milling spindle bearing-pack wear from sustained mill-turn production — primary failure mode on NTX.
- Turning spindle bearing wear under heavy axial loads on NTX 3000 and NTX 4000.
- Sub-spindle synchronization drift on multi-tasking part-transfer work.
- Spindle thermal cycling from long-cycle multitasking parts affecting bearing-pack life.
- Spindle drive faults from sustained heavy cuts on the larger NTX builds.
Controls used on this series
NTX ships on Siemens 840D under CELOS. The B-axis spindle kinematics need full re-verification after any milling-spindle service.
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
