Doosan Series Repair
Doosan Puma V / VT / VTR Vertical Turning Spindle Repair & Grinding
Vertical-turning spindles on Puma V400 through V9300, VT 750/900/1100, and VTR ram-type machines handle large, heavy parts where vertical orientation simplifies workpiece loading. Spindle wear patterns are different from horizontal turning — table bearings see more axial load; the spindle proper sees more cyclic radial load on chucked work.
Models in this series we service
- Puma V400
- Puma V550
- Puma V700
- Puma VT 1100
Common failure patterns
- Table bearing wear from sustained heavy-cut vertical turning.
- ATC reliability on V-series with integrated milling affecting spindle nose alignment.
- Hydraulic clamp pressure loss affecting spindle bearing life.
- Spindle drive faults on heavy-cut production.
Controls used on this series
Puma V, VT, and VTR ship on Fanuc 30i (Doosan) on most current builds. Older Puma V400 may still run Fanuc 0i (Doosan).
Lead time
Lead time depends on the model, the failure mode, and parts availability. Diagnostic is fast; full rebuilds run 3 to 5 weeks on most jobs. We scope each job individually rather than quoting a generic window.
