Way covers on Mazatrol Legacy era machines — M-2, M-32, M-Plus, Fusion 640 — are almost always custom-fabrication in 2026. The machines are mechanically sound and still in production, but OEM cover part numbers have largely been discontinued. We build to spec from your existing cover, the original Mazak drawing if you still have it, or measurements off the machine.

Mazatrol Legacy machines include older Quick Turn lathes (pre-Nexus), the Turning Legacy platforms (Slant Turn, Multiplex 6000, Megaturn, HQR), legacy Vertical Machining Centers (VTC legacy, FJV, AJV), and the HCN horizontals' PFH and H-series predecessors.
Common failures and fixes
- Telescoping steel is the default for legacy Mazatrol turning machines.
- Bellows on some legacy vertical-machine Z-axis configurations.
- Original mounting hardware is sometimes unavailable — replacement hardware as part of the build.
- Measurement coordination from an aging machine requires confirming way travel hasn't drifted from spec.

OEM-spec way covers for Mazatrol Legacy era machines are mostly discontinued. Custom fabrication is the standard path. We can build to your existing cover, the original OEM drawing, or measurements taken off the machine.
Battery, memory, and parameter recovery
When the original cover is too damaged to measure from, we work from the OEM drawing if available, or measure the ways directly from the machine. Way-travel dimensions should be confirmed in case the machine has been moved or re-shimmed since original installation. Lead time is 2 to 4 weeks once measurements are confirmed.
